Feed Back, Copy Right and colorblind

I have tested my website on a color blind test to make sure that anyone with color blindness can still navigate and use my website properly. It worked great and I could still see the different colors, even though the colors changed, the most noticeable being the light greens changing to a light orange color.. The link below shows screenshots of the differences between the website and the color blind website. My teacher mentioned that I am not meant to be using copyrighted photos, so I either had to use all my own photos (Which I already was doing in the gallery) or receive permission from the owner of the photos I want to use. I emailed Cory Scott, one of the greatest surf photographers in New Zealand, asking him for permission to use some of his photos from Mahia in my website. Luckily, he said I was allowed to use his them as long as I give him credit for them, which I was happy to. I have also received feedback from my mum. She said "I love the concept of your website as I'm a regular visitor to Mahia and I have not seen anything promoting Mahia online. It gives regular stayers and visitors alike background and knowledge on Mahia, with things to do, places to eat and lots of  topics. I love the layout and the color scheme but felt you could of had some subtle music in the background. Another change could be adding the new hot chicken and chips station in the dairy which is a favorite for an easy lunch. Also the local market on a Sunday morning which provides loads of different food and items." I think I will defiantly use the advice for chicken and chips and the market, however I don't think I will add music. I am going to get more feedback from my grandparents and maybe someone younger.

Final Post

I have basically finished my website with a few minor things for me to do. Below is a slideshow with screenshots from my final website design, if you guys have got any form of feedback, that would be greatly appreciated.

After the holidays progress

Over the holidays I made major progress on my website. The website itself is nearly finished so once I have completed that I will fully upload it to Github so that you can access it as an actual website. I need to do the accommodation page and then I have a few finishing touches left. Below I have added a link to a slideshow of where I'm up to now and if you guys could leave some feedback or improvements I could make that would be much appreciated.

Week 4

 https://codepen.io/snoozy127/pen/BaKRKMa

This week I have made the links that take you to the other pages look much better and like actual website links. Now all the other pages (Things to do, Food/restaurant, Rocket Lab, Pictures, History and accommodation) have got basic code and are starting to take shape. From now on the home page is finished and I have to finish all the other pages. However from making the home page I now know all the code to make the other pages.

Week 3

After the third week I havent made as much progress as after week 2 but have learnt much more code and started my other pages. As you can see I have nearly completely finished the home page, I only have some finishing touches left, I added the last image, I got the border working on the contact info and added a summary on Mahia. I want to make the links look better, make the middle image bigger and then I have to do all of the link pages.

Week 2

Below I have attached a link that directs you to my week 2 progress.

I have made massive progress since week 1, I managed to figure out how to add links which go to different pages, however I cant change the colour of the links, so thats what I need to do next. I also added a new picture and copied some reviews off the internet, how ever I will get some of my own reviews soon and lastly I added some contact info at the bottom of the page.

Week 1

After 1 week I have managed to learn a lot of basic code on how to make my website. So far I have changed my background colour to grey, have added a background image behind my title "Mahia" and lastly I have added a small google maps section that shows users where Mahia is on a working map. I am also learning how to add links in HTML so I can have more pages for my website. The code for the google maps was surprisingly easy all I had to do was watch a video on you tube and learnt the code in about 15 minutes.
